Program 2008
Secondary school takes a student from childhood to adulthood and the year at the heart of that transformation is, for many students, Year 9.
Caught between childhood and adulthood, students can be overwhelmed. Yet at the same time they're reaching out for knowledge, for new experience, for challenge. Year 9 is when learning can really kick in.
At Ashwood College we've developed a revolutionary Year 9 program called 'I Can'. Our students have embraced it because it works. I Can, run at no cost to parents, is similar to programs in many elite private schools. It stimulates students. It challenges, intrigues, guides, motivates.
'I Can' is just one way we set students up for the crucial VCE years. We've also developed effective curriculum structures to lead into VCE. Exams are an established part of Year 10.
