Ashwood College is a secondary school in the east of Melbourne, Victoria. In recent years we have welcomed international students from China, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Germany, Finland, Brazil and Japan.

Support for International Students
International students at Ashwood College are well looked after by the Assistant Principal, the Interntional Student Coordinator and their Yeal Level Coordinators.

There are teachers specially assigned to ensure they feel at home and make the most of the opportunity to experience a different culture, improve their English language and make new friends. Careers and welfare councillors are available and there are coordinators at each year level who monitor student progress and attendance.

International overseas students have access to:

  • Assistance with accommodation
  • Airport Reception
  • Ongoing welfare support
  • An orientation program to the school and the community
  • Course and career counselling

    • Homestay Arrangements
    We provide an intensive English as a Second Language program for students from non-English speaking backgrounds. We also arrange homestays with local families who provide support and room and board.

    The homestay families are organised and checked by our International Student Co-ordinator who visits regularly to ensure everything is going well.
