After eight long years in the making, Ashwood College’s Performing Arts Centre (PAC) is finally complete, with the official opening being held on Thursday, 7 August.
The centre was opened by Bob Stensholt MP, State Member for Burwood. Anna Burke MP, Federal
Member for Chisholm was also in attendance. The opening was attended by students, parents and teachers from the college; principals and representatives from our local primary schools; representatives from local kindergartens, local clubs and organisations.
Another special guest at the opening was former Ashwood College Principal, Kate Long. It was Kate’s vision for the college to have a functional, modern theatre with the latest sound and lighting facilities. Kate was delighted to speak at the opening and provided the audience with a précis of the long haul over the past eight years to see the PAC through to fruition.
The night included many outstanding performances by the college’s very talented music and performing arts
students.
