Visual and performing arts and music

At Ashwood there's an expectation that all students can and will achieve. We measure our success as a school through the success of our students, even though these successes may not always be in traditional academic areas.

Visual and performing arts and music programs provide all students with the opportunity to participate. We've produced some outstanding successes. We regularly have finalised in VCE Top Arts since it was introduced and Ashwood students have gone on to study art, drama and music at leading institutions in Victoria and around the world.

We are building a state of the art Performing Arts and Multi-Media Centre which will be finished at the end of 2007.

The college has developed a partnership arrangement with Swinburne University of Technology for students in our Design and Drama streams. Ashwood students use the university facilities and participate in workshops run by Swinburne staff. This gives our students a real breadth to their learning and gives them a competitive advantage in gaining entry into the limited tertiary places available in these fields.
