ACE PROGRAM - Accelerated Curriculum and Enrichment (ACE) Program for Year 7 2027

The Accelerated Curriculum and Enrichment (ACE) Program is an educational program designed to meet the needs of high performing, highly motivated students who are ready for the challenge of a complex and fast paced learning environment.

Testing for the 2027 Year 7 ACE class will be conducted at Ashwood High School on Saturday 8 August 2026.

The application process commences in the first half of 2026 and has different stages:

  1. Application for enrolment in Year 7 2027 at Ashwood High School
  2. Expression of interest - Expression of Interest Form
  3. Register online for testing - Registrations open beginning of July 2026
  4. Registration closes on 31 July 2026
  5. Entry test on Saturday 8 August 2026
  6. Submission of forms, reports and NAPLAN results
  7. Interview (if required).

Please note that only students who have received a ‘High School Placement Notification’ for Ashwood High School will be considered for the program. 

 

 

 

ACE Program 2027 – Detailed Application Process

Step 1: Edutest Registration and Testing

Students who have received a High School Placement Notification for Ashwood High School are eligible to register for the ACE 2027 entrance test, administered by Edutest.

  • Registration opens beginning of July 2026
  • Registration closes Friday 31 July 2026
  • Test date: Saturday 8 August 2026
  • Test location: Ashwood High School
  • Fee: A testing fee ($100) is payable at the time of registration

Please note that participation in the entrance test does not guarantee a place in the ACE Program.

 

Step 2: Submission of Forms

Upon registering for the test, families will receive the following forms to complete:

  • Application Form
  • Parent/Carer Assessment Form
  • Student Self-Assessment Form
  • Primary Teacher Assessment Form

In addition, please include:

  • A copy of the student’s most recent school reports (generally Grade 5, Semester 2 or Grade 6, Semester 1)
  • Grade 5 NAPLAN results

Forms and documents may be emailed to: transition@ashwood.vic.gov.au; Subject line: Student Name – ACE 2027.

 

Step 3: Interview

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to attend an interview.

Families will be contacted later in the year if an interview is required.

 

Offers

  • Offers for the ACE Program will be made in October 2026.
  • Offers are only made to students who have been offered a place at Ashwood High School via a High School Placement Notification from their primary school.
  • Students who are enrolled at Ashwood High School but are not initially offered a place in the ACE class will be placed on a waitlist and may be offered a place later in the year if a vacancy becomes available.
