Welcome - Principal Brett Moore

Dear members of the Ashwood Secondary College community,

 

My name is Brett Moore. I am proud to be your new principal because I believe OUR school is a sleeping giant. 

I would like to compliment you on the hard work that parents/guardians, students and staff have obviously put in here at Ashwood Secondary College. There is a lovely feeling as you walk in the door. I’m sure the students appreciate it.

The question is: How can we best work together as a school community to turn this good school into the GREAT school it can be?

 

The answer lies in raising the bar; a belief in:

  • high expectations
  • authentic relationships, based on mutual respect and honest feedback
  • academic excellence
  • the importance of hard work – pride in achievement through effort.

 

I look forward to working with members of the school community to establish a solid school improvement framework. Our school improvement framework will ensure that we:

  • identify and enhance the strengths of Ashwood Secondary College
  • identify and work on areas that MUST be improved
  • establish protocols and opportunities for people to make a difference
  • lift the perception of Ashwood Secondary College in the local community
  • increase enrolments and improve results.

 

I welcome the opportunity of meeting parent, student and staff members of the Ashwood Secondary College community. In particular, I am interested in meeting with all stakeholders to understand and further develop student aspirations and achievement.

Ashwood Secondary College is holding a Parent Forum – Meet the New Principal on Tuesday 28 April, 2015 commencing at 6:30pm in the Collaborative Learning Centre. Please RSVP your intention to attend this forum by contacting the General Office on 9807 1333. I look forward to meeting with you and sharing my vision and educational philosophy with you. Please note this event is strictly for parents/guardians only.
